Geology
I fully understand that all types of science are amazing and needed. But I just think geology is the coolest science.
A big part of my recent geologic work has been a collaboration with the natural stone industry. Many people have granite or marble countertops, but wouldn’t owning a stone countertop be even more fun if you had a sense of the history, properties, and intrigue of your own personal slice of the Earth's crust?
Working with this industry has been rewarding in many ways, because at the end of the day, we all just love rocks.

American Stone Quarries
I began this series when the pandemic was causing many of us to feel a bit beaten down. I wanted to celebrate the history of one of America’s foundational industries; to illuminate examples of discovery, rebirth, and determination. Quarries hold not just rocks, but also stories - often far more interesting than meets the eye.
